2026 Figures — All 50 States + DC

Medicaid Spend-Down Calculator

See how your countable assets compare to your state's 2026 Medicaid asset limit — and learn why having assets above the limit doesn't mean you simply have to spend them on nursing-home bills.

Estimate Your Spend-Down

Based on 2026 Medicaid asset limits. Results are educational estimates only.

Applicant situation

If one spouse is in a facility and the other is at home, select "Single applicant." The at-home spouse's protected amount (Community Spouse Resource Allowance) is a separate calculation.

Include cash, checking/savings accounts, CDs, stocks, bonds, non-exempt investments, and assets held in a revocable trust. For single applicants, also include the value of your home. Do not include one vehicle or other exempt assets.
